Nylon melt-blown non-woven fabric is a high-performance melt-blown nonwoven fabric made of nylon (Nylon) material. It has excellent strength, wear resistance and temperature resistance, and is widely used in filtration, protection, packaging and etc.

Nylon Melt-Blown Non-Woven Fabric | High-Strength, Abrasion- and Heat-Resistant Filter Material for Multiple Applications

Key Features

  • High Strength: Nylon material provides excellent tensile strength and abrasion resistance. The melt-blown process creates a dense fiber network that ensures reliable mechanical performance.
  • Superior Heat Resistance: Capable of continuous operation in high-temperature environments up to ≥200°C without deformation. Ideal for filtration in demanding conditions such as specialty chemicals, petroleum, coatings, and inks.
  • Excellent Breathability: The microporous structure delivers both breathability and filtration efficiency, suitable for diverse ventilation and purification applications.
Note: This nylon melt-blown nonwoven is available in PA (operating temp ≥150°C) and HTPA (operating temp ≥200°C) grades.

Applications

  • Filtration Media: Widely used in air filters and liquid filters to remove particles and contaminants.
  • Protective Materials: Applied in industrial protective clothing and masks, offering both protection and comfort.
  • Packaging Materials: Suitable for food and medical packaging with enhanced protection and ventilation properties.

Manufacturing Process

  • Produced via the Melt-Blown Process, where nylon resin is melted and extruded through precision nozzles to form a stable fiber network structure.

Nylon Melt-blown Nonwoven Fabric – FAQs

Focus on material selection, temperature resistance, chemical compatibility, and customization details. (Samples and third-party testing available)
How does Nylon melt-blown compare with PP melt-blown?
Nylon offers higher mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and heat resistance, making it ideal for high-temperature or solvent-rich environments. PP, on the other hand, is a more economical choice for general air or water filtration. For applications involving coatings, inks, or petrochemical processes, Nylon is usually more stable.
How should I choose between PA and HTPA?
Select based on long-term operating temperature and chemical environment:
PA: Suitable for medium to high temperatures and general chemical conditions.
HTPA: Designed for higher temperatures, solvent vapors, or harsher thermal cycles.
If your process involves temperature fluctuations or cleaning/drying steps, we recommend starting with HTPA and performing small-scale validation.
Can it be used for filtering coatings, inks, resins, or solvent-based liquids?
Yes. Nylon is chemically compatible with most organic solvents and has excellent wear resistance. Actual compatibility depends on solvent type, concentration, and temperature.
Tip: Provide a list of solvents and process conditions, and we can assist with compatibility testing and sampling.
Are there standard pore size or filtration efficiency data?
Actual performance varies depending on basis weight, manufacturing process, and application conditions.
We can provide sample rolls and coordinate third-party testing for pore-size distribution, particle retention, and flow/pressure drop measurements.
Is it suitable for backwashing or multiple-use systems?
Yes. The surface can be cleaned or backwashed under low pressure. For multiple-use systems, we recommend using support layers or multilayer composites to reduce tearing risk. Backwash pressure and frequency should be validated under actual process conditions.
What are the recommendations for chemical cleaning or sterilization?
Use neutral or mild cleaning solutions compatible with your process, and avoid strong acids, bases, or oxidizing agents. When cleaning with heat, control the heating and cooling rate.
We can provide material compatibility information and assist with third-party testing for chemical resistance and service life evaluation.
Can width, basis weight, or roll specifications be customized?
Yes.
Width: 20–35 cm.
Basis weight: 30–120 gsm.
Roll options: Custom roll length. Slitting, cutting, and sampling services are also available.
Can it be laminated with other materials (e.g., PET mesh, support fabric, activated carbon)?
Yes. Nylon melt-blown fabric can be thermally bonded, ultrasonically welded, or adhesive-laminated to form multifunctional composites (e.g., Nylon + PET support mesh, Nylon + activated carbon layer). We can recommend structures based on target flow rate, pressure drop, and mechanical strength.
Can the surface be modified (hydrophilic / hydrophobic / antistatic / flame-retardant)?
Yes. Nylon melt-blown can be customized with different surface treatments. However, surface modification may affect pore-size distribution, pressure drop, and mechanical strength. We recommend small-scale testing and, if needed, third-party verification.
For food-contact or medical applications, only compliant additives and certified formulations should be used, with corresponding documentation provided.
Documentation and purchasing: what certifications are available? What are the MOQ and lead time?
We can provide certifications and declarations as required. For food- or medical-grade use, additional compliance testing and certification may be necessary.
MOQ / Lead time: Usually supplied per roll, 2,000–10,000 m² per batch. Standard lead time is about 3–5 weeks; rush production is available. OEM/ODM projects and custom multilayer designs are supported under NDA.
